Parker persuades fashion guru not to sign up for ‘Sex And The City’ prequel
London: Sarah Jessica Parker is trying to persuade the ‘Sex and the City’ fashion guru not to boycott a forthcoming prequel.
The 46-year-old actress has urged costume designer Patricia Field to stay away from the new series ‘The Carrie Diaries’, as it is about life of Parker’s character in ‘Sex and the City’, Carrie Bradshaw, as a teenager and will be made by ‘Gossip Girl’ producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz.
“Sarah’s 13-year reign as Carrie Bradshaw has come to an end and she hasn’t taken it lying down,” the Daily Mail quoted a source as telling New York Fashion Week.
“She and Pat created Carrie’s fashionista status, so Sarah is putting the pressure on Patricia to side with her,” the source added.
Parker herself backed out of the project when it was signed to American network CW, a rival of HBO, which made the original series.
